Co Owner/Sales Manager/Attitude Adjustment Consultant
Start Date: Co-founded the company in 1997
Experience: A lifetime in the Restaurant biz. Beginning, of course, as a hydro ceramic technician.  Also spent two plus years as an assistant brewer for Independence Brewing Co.  This was the moment in time when I realized there weren’t many viable wholesale options for all the great American brewers.
Interests: Music. It is true that I play in a Velvet Underground cover band. Sports. It is also true that I suffer through every summer with the Phillies. I’ve also been known to read a book or two.
Previous life: Vacuum cleaner salesman, carpenters helper, collegiate soccer coach.
Education: Two years at Hartwick College, two years and a summer at SUNY Oneonta. English degree.
Miscellaneous data: Spent summers on lake Winnipesauke, attended Live Aid, live just outside Philly, try to drink a different beer every night.

RAFAL LOBODA rafal@hunterdonselections.com
Start date:November 2003
Wine and Spirits Portfolio Manager
Experience: 10 years managing a wine shop in New Jersey.  Wine courses and wine classes at Windows of the World with Kevin Zraly.  Organizing wine events for numerous organizations.  During that period I swallowed the “wine bug” and that was it for me.  Wine became my passion, but I also always have been a beer geek on the inside.
Interests: Cycling, cycling, and did I mention … cycling.
Education:  Associates degree in Business Administration and and Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.
Miscellaneous: Partied all out at Woodstock’s 25th anniversary in NY.  Enjoy occasional fly fishing trips, and I am always on a search for a great glass of wine and an esoteric pint of beer that will go well with my cooking.

Name: STEVE GATES aka "STEVIE CASINO" steve@hunterdonbrewing.com
Position:  South Jersey Restaurant Sales
Start Date:  November 2006
Experience: Recognized Judge, Beer Judge Certification Program.  10+ years in the restaurant business.  I did it all; busboy, waiter, bartender (I like to call it intoxication delivery systems engineering), even a stint as a manager.  Along the way I had the good fortune of tending bar at a few restaurants that served some of the best beers in the world, and a brave new world opened up for me.
Interests:  A little of everything. . . I love music; I play guitar in a band (Los Guajalotes Negros y Salvajes)  with 2 of my best friends.  I really enjoy a good pair of slacks.  I learned to blow glass years ago from a friend, worked in his studio for a few years, and eventually operated my own studio.  Alas, the life of a starving artist wasn’t for me, but I still manage to play with melted glass every once in a while.  I like to read good books but rarely find the time.  Lastly, I am a total foodie!  I love to cook and eat good food (as long as there is good beer to wash it down!).
Previous Life:  bartending glassblower.
Miscellaneous data:  I speak and read Spanish fluently; my Spanish speaking voice sounds just like the guy from the news broadcast on Univision 41.  Now if someone from South America would just brew some really good beer. . .

Previous Life: In all likelihood I was the guy who invented the hammock but forgot to patent it so my arch enemy who worked next door stole the idea then ran off with my wife.
Miscellaneous: Considered the “Bob Wickman of Wiffle,” and as one of the premier wiffle ball relief pitchers with a devastating curveball complemented with a deceiving side arm fastball. Play guitar, drums, bass, piano, and the recorder. . .at the same time.

Experience - Worked at a local brewpub as a dishwasher all the way to bartender for about seven years... Instead of asking people to buy me certain 'yellow fizzy beers' i was asking for growlers of Porter. Go figure. Interests - Dining out and drinking cocktails at my favorite places in NYC. Various types of music from Brand New to Phish to At the Drive In. I love to fish and hike. ANNA TRUEMAN Wine Consultant; North Jersey anna@hunterdonselections.com
START DATE:
June 30, 2008
EXPERIENCE: 9 years of selling wine, first as a tasting room manager at a local NJ winery, then waiting tables (fine dining), then worked my way up in the retail world from cashier to General Manager
PREVIOUS LIFE: starving artist... even went to art school. So I'm also a graphic designer/printmaker/bookbinder
INTERESTS: trying new wines, learning Italian, cooking. I still want to take a knife-skills class at CIA, so I can chop veggies like the chefs on TV
LIKES: squeezing my baby girl, fixing up our old stone house, tending my herb garden, the smell of mimosas in the morning, horses (I don't care if that's cliche), reading (but don't have time), flea markets, fresh and stinky goat cheese
DISLIKES: The attitude that wine is a big competition. People have been enjoying wine for thousands of years; it's only in the last couple of centuries that the scientific mindset has turned everything into a game of quantifying everything with hard numbers. While I'm not one of those people who believe, literally, that "If you like it, it's good"- because I DO believe that there are better quality and less-better-quality wines out there- I also believe that if someone really enjoys their Manischewitz, then live and let live. (Well, after I taste them on a few things, just to be sure...)
EDUCATION: Certified Specialist of Wine; Advanced Level, WSET (passed with distinction); Intro Level, Court of Master Sommeliers; International Sommeliers Guild, Diploma Program; got my BFA cum laude at Ringling School of Art and Design in 1996 (yes, THAT Ringling. No, I am not a clown.)
MISC: I think horse manure actually smells good
