Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co.

Since it’s resurrection in 1999, the former Lexington Brewing Company and Dr. Pearse Lyons have had one strategy: to make the very best beer. Well, that’s exactly what they did and we are proud to announce that you can finally find these beers in NJ. Kentucky Ale and Kentucky Kolsch were the first two brews made, until Alltech decided to up the ante. Taking advantage of the brewery’s location in the one state that produces 98% of the world’s bourbon, Lyons and his team decided to take their new ale to the next level. Aging beer in bourbon barrels may not seem like the latest discovery, but Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling goes about it in a different way. Within only a FEW HOURS of the bourbon leaving the barrel, Kentucky Ale settles into it’s new cask for up to 6 weeks. The results from using these fresh barrels are noticeably different form other barrel aged brews and after they’ve been used once, yes just ONCE, they are done. There’s no doubt that these typed of techniques are what makes Alltech stand out from the crowd. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is the flagship brew and winner of many awards. With a distinctive nose and subtle vanilla and oak flavors, this smooth and robust brew is a perfect choice.

Hunterdon is so excited to offer these fantastic beers in the great state of New Jersey, but we didn’t stop at the beer! Alltech has a line of masterfully crafted spirits. Town Branch Bourbon is aged in charred white oak barrels and the complex flavors are smooth and sweet with a slight warming leading to a long finish. These are the barrels that are emptied and shortly after used to aged the Kentucky Ale! If you’re interested in a malt whiskey, then Pearse Lyons Reserve is for you – it’s Kentucky’s first malt whiskey since 1919! Distilled in dual copper pot stills from Scotland for a smooth taste and crafted in the old-world tradition, this whiskey is smooth and satisfying. Finally, Bluegrass Sundown is a velvety liquid made with dark roasted coffee, Kentucky Bourbon, and sugar. Pour it into a glass and add some boiling water to release the full flavor or this spirit. It’s a perfect nightcap!

Here is everything you will find in New Jersey from Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Co:

Kentucky Ale
Our Master Brewers describe Kentucky Ale® as a marriage between two classic beer styles; Irish Red Ale and English Pale Ale. Light amber in color, Kentucky Ale owes its unique body and character to select imported malts and a pinch of wheat malt for a rich, smooth taste. The unique body and character of Kentucky Ale is heavily influenced by the water, drawn from aquifers in the limestone rock underlying the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky. 5.3% ABV Available in 6-packs

Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale Award winning Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale® is a unique sipping beer with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted bourbon. Our Kentucky Ale is aged for at least six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after dinner drink. 8.2%ABV

Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale
Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale is a barrel-aged ale brewed with Kentucky-sourced pumpkin, richly spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. As the ale is aged in fresh bourbon barrels, the sweetness of caramel and vanilla are imparted upon the brew and complement its spicier base. At 10% ABV, this robust, limited release seasonal makes for a flavorful sipping beer to slowly warm up with as the weather cools.

Town Branch Bourbon
The Kentucky Bourbon Trail now runs through Lexington because of its newest member, Town Branch® Bourbon. One of bourbon’s most distinctive qualities comes from the limestone water that brought bourbon to popularity in the 1800s. The name, Town Branch, commemorates the body of water that currently runs under Lexington, on which Lexington was founded. Pleasant woody and oaky aromas lead into caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and hints of cherry. The lavish and complex flavors are smooth and sweet with a gentle warming leading to a long finish. Shortly after the barrels of Town Branch run dry, the spirit lives on as these barrels are used to age our award winning Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale!

Pearse Lyons Reserve
Symbolizing the passion of its founder and master distiller, Pearse Lyons Reserve™ is a malt whiskey distilled in dual copper pot stills from Scotland for the smoothest taste. Produced in the old-tradition with generations of inspiration from the Lyons Family, Pearse Lyons Reserve is a culmination of years of experience and passion. The nose is sweet with notes of molasses and brown sugar, a touch of nutmeg, and vanilla. The taste is smooth and spicy with chili peppers that fade slowly to reveal slightly tart notes of lemon crème and molasses. The finish is dry and long with a subtle touch of oak and a hint of brown sugar. An excellent debut!
