Ballast Point Brewery

They’re BAAAAACK! After nearly a year hiatus, we’re super excited to have these tasty San Diego suds back in our warehouse! From the award-winning Sculpin IPA to the highly addictive Victory at Sea, people just can’t seem to get enough of the deliciousness that is Ballast Point. And with all buzz circling this brewery in recent years, the competition for their expertly-crafted brews has been getting even tougher and tougher by the minute. Beer fans literally can’t get enough of the these brews! Luckily for you, good things come to those who wait….and we’re just as happy as you that the wait is finally over!

Ballast Point was founded in 1996 by fellow home-brew enthusiasts Jack White and Yuseff Cherney. Jack was the owner of Home Brew Mart, a small home-brewing supply store in San Diego. Yuseff stumbled in one day, they got to talking and the rest is history. Yuseff’s passion for fishing, combined with their beautiful coastal location provided them with a perfect theme for their brewery. In addition to a handful of year-round brews consisting of pale ales, IPAs, amber ales, porters and wheat beers, Ballast Point also produces an extensive collection of one-offs, limited releases and collaborative brews with other highly-regarded craft brewers in the San Diego community.

Over the last sixteen years, they have contributed significantly to the burgeoning San Diego craft beer scene and have reeled in dozens of medals on both the local and national level. At the 2010 World Beer Cup they took home three gold medals in addition to being awarded the prestigious title of ‘Small Brewer of the Year’. Ballast Point is ranked #29 on RateBeer’s list of best brewers in the world and nearly all of their brews have received scores of 90 points or higher. If you haven’t tried any of their beers yet, you’re surely going to be hooked!!
