Founders Blushing Monk

There’s nothing like the original… Backstage Series brew from Founders Brewing Company! Blushing Monk is back for the first time since 2011. This Belgian style ale is brewed with a mountainous number of raspberries and a yeast strain that keeps the cellar operators at Founders on their toes. It pours a deep, beautiful red berry color and has a bit of a kick at 9.2% ABV. Pair it with some fresh cheese, fruit, cake or any dessert.

The Backstage Series from Founders boasts some of the most sought after beers in the market. The schedule of when they are brewed isn’t set and nobody can be sure if they will ever be brewed again, but one sure thing is that when they reach our warehouse there is always a little extra buzz in the air. With unique offerings like Mango Magnifico, an ale brewed with mango and a touch of habanero pepper or Dissenter, a citrus-forward India Pale Lager you never know what the incredibly talented brewers will come up with next, but you can be sure these Backstage brews will be unique and absolutely delectable.

“People keep asking us if we’re going to bring any of our Backstage Series beers back—and now we have,” said Co-Founder and President Dave Engbers. “It seems as though we brew Blushing Monk on a four-year cycle. Our cellar crew hates brewing it because it’s brewed with a different yeast strain from all of our other beers, but we think it’s worth the sleepless nights. It’s an absolutely gorgeous beer.”
