Sly Fox Odyssey

Overwhelmed with winter warmers and malty-sweet sippers? In need of something bitter and delicious to enliven your taste buds? Well, listen up hop heads ’cause we’ve got just the cure! Sly Fox Odyssey Imperial IPA is back on the scene and this year’s recipe boasts a killer lineup of hops and a monstrous 90 IBUs that will surely satisfy that craving. Odyssey is hitting the shelves once again in 6-pack CANS (yup, 12oz of hoppy goodness) and on draft….so be sure to look for it on tap at your local beer bar in the weeks ahead!

About the brew….
Released at the end of each year in conjunction with Sly Fox’s anniversary, this Imperial IPA is a celebration of the beloved humulus lupus plant. It debuted back in 2004 as the brewery’s anniversary ale and then later became the “grand finale” in their “Single Hop Project” that kicked off in 2007. Each month from January through November, the brewery released a new Pale Ale or IPA that showcased one unique hop species. The last release of the year was Odyssey – a massive Imperial IPA brewed with the entire lineup of hops used throughout the year. The beer became so wildly popular that Sly Fox decided to continue the tradition even after the single hop project ended. Each year since, the Sly Fox team picks out a special selection of hops that will help commemorate another fantastic year in the craft beer industry. This year, the hop bill for Odyssey consists of Bravo and Centennial for bittering hops, Calypso, Cascade, Centennial, and a new experimental nameless hop known as 6,300 for the aroma hops and Delta and Cascade for the dry hops! Expect big floral and citrus notes on the nose and a wallop of hops on the palate with a long, dry bitter finish. Odyssey pours a beautiful light amber color and is 8.4% abv. Hop to it!
