TITLE: Specialty Sales Rep – North East NJ

SUPERVISOR: Specialty Division Manager

OBJECTIVE: To educate accounts and drive sales of all Specialty brands for Hunterdon Distributors in assigned territory within New Jersey.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and maintain effective customer relations and promote the good will of Hunterdon
  • Present assigned products to accounts on a monthly basis
  • Educate assigned sales team on brands and products within the portfolio
  • Execute monthly goals as related to business activities
  • Help maintain supplier relations through appropriate communication
  • Ensure the successful sale, distribution and placement of the portfolio while promoting the image of the brands
  • Effectively managing and growing business in key accounts, both in the on and off premise
  • Develop new accounts and new placements, primarily the brands designated by the Specialty Sales Manager
  • Conduct promotions in accounts as agreed
  • Identify opportunities for growth in accounts and territories
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding credit, delivery, product information and other inquiries as they arise
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability and willingness to work independently
  • Live within the assigned area

THE PREFERRED APPLICANT WILL HAVE:

  • 3 yrs experience within the alcohol beverage industry either at retail or wholesale
  • Knowledge of On and Off Premise segments
  • Cicerone Certified Beer Server required, Certified Cicerone a plus
  • A broad understanding of different types of alcohol (beer, cider, mead, spirits)
  • A general understanding of marketing and consumer buying patterns
  • Experience making presentations to small groups
