Spotlight on: Port Brewing & The Lost Abbey

While everyone else in the country was sleeping on New Year’s Day, all of us beer geeks in the Garden State were partying! The first day of 2012 marked the exciting debut of two of the most highly regarded brands in the country: Port Brewing & The Lost Abbey. Eleven lucky restaurants throughout New Jersey featured an assortment of their beers on tap for the special occasion and beer enthusiasts from across the state made their way out to take a sip of history!

Until now, products from Port Brewing & The Lost Abbey could only be found in a total of eight US markets; only three of those markets being on the East Coast – Philadelphia, Boston and Georgia. This may help to explain the craze surrounding these highly sought-after brands! After years of anticipation and endless inquiries from our New Jersey beer fans, the wait is finally over! We are proud to be adding these top-notch West Coast brews to our portfolio and look forward to drinking a few pints with you in 2012!

To help celebrate the big launch, head brewer Tomme Arthur and his crew will be in town this week for three special nights. (See below for locations and times.) Each event will feature an assortment of styles from both brands plus a special West Coast-style pale ale, FNG, brewed specifically for the New Jersey market! This is the first time Port Brewing & The Lost Abbey have brewed anything exclusively for one of their distribution markets, so we consider ourselves pretty lucky! Be sure to stop by one of the events this week for a sip of the FNG and a chance to meet the brewery crew. We hope to see you there!
