Yards Saison

70 degrees and sunny?! Sounds like perfect Saison-drinking weather if you ask us. It just so happens that as we speak we’re rolling out one of our favorite local versions of this classic Belgian ale, brewed just a hop, skip and a jump away in the City of Brotherly Love!

Yards Saison is a full-bodied and refreshing ‘farmhouse-style’ ale brewed to quench your thirst on warm afternoons like today. It’s beautiful golden/citrine orange hue screams “Drink Me” and the incredible aroma of fresh citrus, candied sugar, sweet malt and spices will force the glass of delicious liquid to your lips.

On the palate you’ll discover the complex, champagne-like quality for which these Belgian-style ales are known. Expect big flavors of tart citrus, fresh yeast and sugar with hints of peppercorn, coriander and a wide variety of other spices. Yards Saison will dazzle your taste buds with its long, lingering, slightly dry finish and leave you thirsty for just one more sip!!

Now available in 6-packs, 1/2 and 1/6 kegs!

A bit of history…
The name Saison comes from the French word for “season”. This was a style of beer originally made by Belgian farmer-brewers in the winter season for consumption during the summer harvest by the farm or “season” workers. These farmhouse ales were made strong enough to survive the ageing process, but light enough to drink in the summertime. Saisons are now made year-round by a handful of these original Belgian farmhouse brewers and because of their surging popularity, many domestic breweries are incorporating their own version into their seasonal or year-round lineups.

Food Pairings
Saisons are one of the most food friendly beers out there. They are a terrific match for shellfish, savory dishes like onion and cheese tarts, spicy foods like curry, Thai, Mexican and BBQ and if you are a cheese fanatic, try it with aged Gouda and you’ll be in love!
